Interim Head of Property

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior leader to take responsibility for a high‑profile property and environmental services portfolio during a period of organisational change. The role focuses on stabilising services, compliance, and setting clear direction for teams while early transformation work gets underway.

About the role

• Provide steady leadership across Corporate Property & Assets, Waste and Environmental Maintenance Services.
• Ensure statutory and health and safety responsibilities are fully met and that risks are well managed.
• Oversee estate management, valuations, disposals and delivery of the Asset Management Plan.
• Lead the implementation of MRI Qube as the core property and asset system.
• Support operational services, ensuring strong performance, contract management and compliance.
• Build constructive relationships with senior leaders, Members, partners, staff and Trade Unions.
• Put in place clear performance monitoring and ensure a smooth handover to future leadership.

What you’ll bring

• Senior leadership experience in property, assets, environmental services or similar corporate functions.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance, governance and risk.
• Ability to lead teams through change with clarity and confidence.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Needed in the office once a week. 

£650-£700 - Outside IR35.
