Interim Strategic Asset Manager

I’m preparing for January and with the changes happening in local government I predict that there will be more of a need for Strategic Asset Managers, to review the councils stock and provide strategic advice or produce an asset management plan. 

If you're an experienced Asset Manager with experience conducting a comprehensive asset review of a local authority’s commercial and operational property portfolio, then please get in touch. 

To give some context, I am regularly speaking with councils who need experts to help them assess the current status of their properties, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop strategic recommendations to maximise the value of their assets.

Your responsibilities are likely to include:

• Conducting a thorough and systematic review of the local authority's property portfolio.
• Assessing the current condition, value, and potential of each asset.
• Identifying underperforming properties and propose strategies for improvement, including potential renovation or redevelopment options.
• Analysing rental income, lease agreements, and market rental rates to evaluate the financial performance of each property.
• Provide expert recommendations on property acquisitions, disposals, and lease negotiations to maximise the value of the portfolios.
• Prepare reports and presentations summarising findings, analysis, and proposed action plans to senior management and relevant committees.

With some of these positions, you may be involved in dealing with some of the day-to-day management of the property portfolio, including any Landlord & Tenant or Property Management issues.

If you’re interested in positions like this, you will need to highlight your in-depth knowledge in this area and ideally you will have completed a similar project within another local authority.
