Principle Planning Officer

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Principal Planning Officer to lead key elements of our Local Plan, develop high‑quality planning policies and to provide expert advice across the organisation.

We offer flexible and hybrid working, with a blend of home working and time in the office for collaboration, meetings, and team activity.

Our offices are a short walk from local train stations, making commuting straightforward. The area also offers plenty of nearby cafés, shops, and lunch spots, giving you good options for breaks or informal catch‑ups.

Responsibilities: 

•  You’ll manage complex projects, guide junior officer and play a key central role in delivering sustainable growth and great places for our communities.
• You’ll need strong policy experience, excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Manage pre‑application discussions, negotiating improvements to design, layout, sustainability, and infrastructure.
• You will be working on major applications such as Housing schemes of 50–1,000+ homes, 10 or more dwellings
