Lead the Future of Planning, Heritage and Enforcement

A London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Planning Team Manager to lead three specialist services: Planning Enforcement, Conservation & Heritage, and Trees & Landscaping.

This is a rare opportunity to oversee complex casework, protect heritage assets, and influence high‑quality development across a diverse urban area.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Enforcement, Conservation & Heritage, and Trees & Landscaping services
• Oversee complex enforcement investigations, appeals and court work
• Manage heritage and conservation work including appraisals and local list updates
• Oversee TPO applications, tree works and landscape‑related planning advice
• Provide expert guidance to senior officers, Members and external partners
• Ensure high service standards, performance and continuous improvement

You Will Bring

• Strong Development Management and enforcement experience
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary specialist teams
• Confidence presenting at committee, appeals and public inquiries
• RTPI membership (or eligibility) and a background in planning or a related discipline
