Team Manager – Planning Enforcement
A London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Planning Team Manager to lead three specialist services: Planning Enforcement, Conservation & Heritage, and Trees & Landscaping.
This is a rare opportunity to oversee complex casework, protect heritage assets, and influence high‑quality development across a diverse urban area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Enforcement, Conservation & Heritage, and Trees & Landscaping services
- Oversee complex enforcement investigations, appeals and court work
- Manage heritage and conservation work including appraisals and local list updates
- Oversee TPO applications, tree works and landscape‑related planning advice
- Provide expert guidance to senior officers, Members and external partners
- Ensure high service standards, performance and continuous improvement
You Will Bring
- Strong Development Management and enforcement experience
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary specialist teams
- Confidence presenting at committee, appeals and public inquiries
- RTPI membership (or eligibility) and a background in planning or a related discipline
