Can you provide immediate leadership as a Validations Manager?
We are working in partnership with a local authority to recruit an experienced Validations Manager to lead the planning validation function within the Development Management service.
This is a key role responsible for ensuring all planning applications are accurately validated, legally compliant, and processed efficiently, supporting the wider planning service to meet statutory timescales and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the planning validation team
- Oversee registration and validation of planning applications
- Ensure compliance with planning legislation, DMPO, and local validation requirements
- Act as escalation point for complex validation matters
- Support performance improvement and statutory timescales
Requirements
- Strong local authority planning validation experience
- Sound knowledge of planning legislation and procedures
- Line management or supervision experience
- Able to step in quickly with minimal handover
Desirable
- Planning-related degree or equivalent experience
- RTPI membership
- Experience with Idox, Uniform, or Acolaid
