We are working with a forward-thinking local authority seeking an experienced Senior Policy Officer to join their Planning Policy team. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence key policies that shape the future of the area, including economic development and climate change.
As Senior Policy Officer, you will:
- Lead on economic development policies (employment, retail) and/or climate change policies within the Local Plan Update.
- Support the team in defending other policies such as design, health, infrastructure, strategic sites, and self/custom housebuilding.
- Represent the Council during the examination process, including public hearings.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including Councillors and the public, on Local Plan topics.
- Liaise with consultants and review evidence studies on viability, employment land, retail, and climate change.
