Mechanical Project Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
- Advisor to Corporate Landlord: Provide compliance advice for the Corporate Estate in line with ISO 55000 Asset Management Standards.
- Technical Specialist: Act as the Council’s expert for mechanical engineering services, including:
- Heating and hot water generation
- Hot and cold water systems (including quarterly water hygiene tasks)
- Air conditioning services
- Commercial kitchens
- Project Delivery: Oversee mechanical engineering projects, prepare specifications, drawings, and tender documents.
- Lift Safety: Manage lift inspection programmes, ensuring compliance with legislation and timely rectification of defects.
- Compliance & Quality: Ensure all works meet statutory requirements, CDM regulations, and Council standards.
- Budget & Resource Management: Forecast, monitor, and report on project budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery.
- Procurement & Contract Management: Prepare and manage frameworks and contracts, acting as client’s agent.
- Asset Management: Maintain accurate asset data and support development of asset management systems.
- Health & Safety: Uphold Council’s H&S policies and ensure compliance across all projects.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Mechanical Building Services qualification (HVAC).
- Strong knowledge of water hygiene/legionella control and lift safety regulations.
- Experience with CDM regulations and Principal Designer responsibilities.
- Proven ability in project management, procurement, and budget control.
- Familiarity with asset management principles (ISO 55000).
Desirable
- IOSH/NEBOSH certification.
- Experience in local authority or public sector environment.
