This position suits someone with strong experience in housing‑related health & safety, regulatory compliance, and safety governance, who is confident operating in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead on drafting and reviewing RAMS, ensuring safe systems of work are embedded across all operational teams.
  • Oversee CDM compliance for construction, maintenance and refurbishment projects.
  • Produce accurate compliance data, performance reports and assurance documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain and develop the compliance assurance framework and related digital systems.
  • Carry out site inspections, mini‑audits and safety reviews, issuing clear recommendations.
  • Support the onboarding, assessment and monitoring of contractors from a health & safety perspective.
  • Work with residents, internal partners and external stakeholders to support building safety engagement.

  • Contribute to policy development, continuous improvement and transformation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong background in health & safety within housing, property services or similar regulated sectors.
  • Solid understanding of fire safety, asbestos, water hygiene, electrical safety, gas safety, CDM Regulations and wider statutory compliance.
  • Experience producing clear, data‑driven reports and technical safety documentation.
  • Ability to carry out safety inspections, audits and compliance reviews confidently and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information in plain English to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate required, with additional fire safety and CDM training desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence.
