Project Manager – Cladding Remediation

  • You will be working as an Interim Project Manager, specifically for Building Safety and Cladding Projects for a Housing Association in Essex.
  • You’ll work across six buildings, two high-rise and four medium-rise, supporting through the design, planning and project works phases of Building safety works.
  • You will work collaboratively with the Building Safety Manager, internal teams, external consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance, resident safety, and timely delivery of project milestones.
  • You will be working alongside the Head of Compliance and Building Safety Managers.
  • £500–£550 per day (Outside IR35).
  • An initial 12–Month Contract, the total programme is budgeted for the next 3 years.
  • Temporary, Full-time.
  • On-site 1 days per week.

 Project Manager – Cladding Remediation Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of building safety and cladding projects from RIBA Stage 2 (Concept Design) to Stage 4 (Technical Design).
  • Coordinate and support the preparation and submission of Cladding Safety Scheme applications for five buildings.
  • When planning major works on a high-rise block in England, the Project Manager and Building Safety Manager must collaborate from the outset to ensure safety and regulatory. compliance.
  • The PM leads project delivery, while the BSM oversees fire and structural safety, supports risk management, and liaises with residents and regulators. Their joint efforts ensure safety is embedded throughout design, construction, and handover.
  • Manage design teams, fire engineers, and cost consultants to develop compliant and cost-effective remediation strategies.
  • Ensure alignment with CDM, PAS 9980, Building Safety Act, Building Regulations and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including programmes, risk registers, and stakeholder engagement plans – Ensuring that the golden thread of information is maintained, and that correct information is passed to the BSM for inclusion the Safety Cases for each building.
  • Assist and liaise with the BSM to facilitate resident communications and engagement activities, ensuring transparency, great communication and inclusion.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverables, reporting progress to the BSM and senior leadership.
  • Support procurement of contractors and consultants in line with organisational policies.
  • Champion EDI principles and inclusive practices throughout project delivery.

 Project Manager – Cladding Remediation Applicant Essentials

  • Proven experience managing fire, building safety or cladding remediation projects, ideally in residential high-rise settings
  • Strong understanding of RIBA Plan of Work and building safety legislation. Experience and knowledge of CDM
  • Experience preparing, progressing and supporting applications to government funding schemes (e.g., CSS, BSF)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret design drawings, details and technical reports and translate into actionable project plans
  • Familiarity with risk management (fire, water, asbestos, environmental impact), compliance reporting, and resident engagement best practices
  • Relevant qualifications in construction, project management, or building surveying (e.g., RICS, CIOB)
  • Knowledge of QL or similar asset management systems.
  • Understanding of EDI and social value in construction projects.
