Technical Lead - Active Travel

I'm working closely with a progressive County Council situated in the South East of England in support of a Transport (Technical) Lead across for the Active Travel team, a part of the wider Strategic and Sustainable Transport arm.

This strategic and policy-focused led role; will require input, delivery and leadership in refreshing Walking, Cycling (mainly) initiatives and strategies across their Local Transport Plan. And direction on their Active Travel Programme.

As a successful applicant, you'll be responsible for:

• Coordinating project delivery, including schemes funded by ATE and Revenue budgets.
• Transport Strategy, policy review, refresh and input on the Active Travel and Connectivity aspect of the LTP.
• Engage with stakeholders across the Transport planning teams, public health, and external data-driven partners, Local Cycling groups, and monthly Active Travel Roundtables.
• Analyse and report data, supporting LTP KPI monitoring and contributing to the LTP refresh.
• Provide oversight to less senior officers.

This position will require someone who can pull complex projects together, leading a small Active Travel unit and who can influence multiple teams, championing active travel initiatives county-wide.

Arrangement:

• £60-£65 per hour (Inside IR35)
• 1x Weekly in the Offices
• 6 Month initial Contract
