Environmental Protection Officer needed!
A council based in Hampshire are looking for an Environmental Health Officer to assist with Environmental Protection across the district.
What's in it for you?
- £40-£50p/h
- Hybrid working (3 days in office/on site)
- 37 hours per week
6 month contract (possible extension)
The Role
- Varied and interesting workload that includes managing a caseload of investigations, customer requests and enforcement referrals, in addition to advising on planning and licensing consultations
- To address potential reactive issues, such as nuisances, untidy sites, pests and drainage issues, at an early stage before they get out of hand
- Assisting with contaminated land – reviewing complex technical contaminated land reports, commenting on Planning applications relating to contamination of land
Serving Notices, potentially attending Licensing hearing, potentially attending court.
Required
- Minimum 5 years experience in Environmental Protection within Local government
- Be able to demonstrate specialist knowledge of a subject relevant to the role, such as contaminated land or noise control
- You will be able to use noise and other monitoring equipment to gather data and be able to analyse and interpret results
- Experience of working with external partners including community leaders, public sector agencies and the voluntary sector.
