Corporate Health and Safety Advisor

A council based in Hampshire are looking for a Corporate Health and Safety Advisor/Officer to join their team and work alongside the teams manager and Head of Service.

What's in it for you?

• £40-£50p/h
• Hybrid working (2 days in office/on site)
• 37 hours per week
• 6 month contract (possible extension)

The Role

• Delivering a health and safety management system which provides a structured approach, and which demonstrates compliance with statutory requirements and current best practice in relation to customers, employees and contractors
• Advising and auditing on health and safety practise across the council, dealing with risk assessments, safe systems of work
• Promoting a positive health and safety culture through formally established communication links throughout the organisation.

Experience 

• Minimum of 3 years occupational experience of health and safety law.
• A health and safety advisor or similar role within a similar sized organisation or local authority
• Knowledge of current health and safety legislation, regulation and best practice in local government 

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level
• NEBOSH diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent qualification
• Membership of IOSH or similar professional membership
