A Suffolk-based client of mine is seeking a highly motivated Commercial Team Leader to join their Commercial team. You will work closely with the Commercial Manager and be responsible for the food hygiene, health & safety, and Animal Licensing.
Your duties:
- Work with Commercial Manager to plan and prioritise the team’s workload to ensure the programme of work in the delivery plan is achieved.
- To undertake high profile food inspections and handle high profile Health and Safety investigations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, projects, and initiatives, including income generation activities.
- Promote, plan, and implement the day-to-day income-generating services operated by the team. Include Training Courses and operation of the Council's Registered training centre, pre-inspection advice visits and re-rating requests, as well as printed support materials.
- Undertake all service requests, accident investigations, 'near miss' accidents and product recalls.
- Performance management/supervision of staff, including motivating, and conducting PDR.
- Share expertise and knowledge and support Food, Health, and Safety Officers, RCO Officers, and Sampling Officers (For Food/HS functions).
- Take ownership of the technical support and training of staff, including updating the team on new legislation and identifying training gaps and developing needs, and putting in solutions to meet those identified needs.
- Support the manager with the development of the delivery plan and other EH strategies/ policies and procedures.
- Assist the manager with complaints, MP/Member inquiries, and FOI requests, and learn and develop the service as a result of such inquiries.
- Prepare technical reports and act as an expert witness in court as required.
You will be required to follow the organisation's Health & Safety policies and attend mandatory training.
Requirements:
-Minimum 5 years of Local authority experience in relevant jobs
-Clean UK driving license and access to your own vehicles.
-Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent.
-CIEH / EHORB certificate of registration.
-Up-to-date CPD.
Details:
-3 - 6 months contract.
-Full time (37.5 hours) / Part time (22 hours)
-Flexible working arrangements (1 - 2 days on site per week)
-£48 - £52 per hour
-Nov/ Dec start
