  • Role: Repairs Surveyor
  • Rate: £300 per day (Umbrella)
  • Contract Type: Interim, Full-Time
  • Location: East of England
  • Contract Length: 3–6 months, with the potential to extend
  • Working Arrangements: Site based various locations, 5 days per week

Repairs Surveyor – Overview

  • This is an interim Repairs Surveyor role supporting an established Property Services team within a social housing provider across a large district. The position focuses on delivering responsive repairs with a balanced workload and a pragmatic, supportive working environment.
  • While there is some legacy involvement with damp and mould, new cases have reduced, allowing for a steady and manageable pipeline of work rather than a reactive backlog.

Repairs Surveyor – Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake responsive repairs inspections across occupied housing stock
  • Diagnose building defects and specify effective remedial works
  • Manage a structured workload through scheduled inspections and a self-managed diary
  • Liaise with tenants, contractors and internal stakeholders to progress works efficiently
  • Support broader surveying duties where required, including tenant alterations
  • Ensure all works meet quality standards, required timescales and budget parameters

Repairs Surveyor – Applicant Essentials

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Repairs Surveyor within a social housing provider
  • Strong technical knowledge of building defects and responsive repairs processes
  • Confidence in managing inspections, writing specifications and contractor engagement
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining high professional standards

Desirable

  • Experience working across large geographical patches
  • Familiarity with damp and mould inspections
  • Understanding of current social housing compliance and delivery standards
