Principal Policy Officer - Minerals and Waste

My Local Authority client is looking for a principal Planner with experience in minerals and waste to join the team on an interim basis. 

Below are the details of the role: 

• Lead the 25/26 BSIP capital schemes through internal governance and approval processes.
• Develop a comprehensive business case or cases for schemes.
• Liaise with individual project leads and the Technical Lead for Bus Service Improvement to ensure alignment and progress.
• Assist in setting up, co-ordinating and establishing capital schemes as projects.
• Develop and implement ongoing monitoring processes for the projects.
• Attend Enhanced Partnership (EP) working groups and Board meetings where necessary to report on progress.
• Conduct scoping work to support the development of future BSIP schemes.
• Assist in putting together a 3-year pipeline proposal for BSIP schemes in collaboration with council officers and bus operators.
  Proven experience in the planning and/or delivery of transport related major infrastructure schemes.
• Strong understanding of local authority governance.
• Excellent project management and organisational skills.
• Ability to develop comprehensive business cases.
• Strong communication and liaison skills.
