Senior Environmental Health Officer - Food Safety

Our client, a local authority based in Norfolk, is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Health Officer to join their Commercial team. In this role, you will be responsible for routine Food, Health & Safety inspections, Health and Safety investigations, and enforcement.

Key responsibilities:

• Carry out routine inspections and investigations, ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations.
• Provide advice and guidance on environmental health matters to businesses.
• Investigate complaints and take enforcement action where necessary.
• Prepare reports and attend court as required.
• Support and mentor junior members of the team.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Environmental Health or equivalent
• EHRB/CIEH registered
• Up-to-date CPD
• Up-to-date competency framework
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
• The ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
