About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Licensing Team Leader to join our team, on an interim basis, within a progressive local authority in the North West of England. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused licensing service that ensures compliance, public safety, and supports local businesses.
You will lead a dedicated team managing a diverse range of licensing functions, including alcohol, entertainment and taxis.
- Lead, support, and develop a team of licensing officers to deliver an efficient and professional licensing service.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures across all areas of licensing.
- Liaise with elected members, partner agencies, and local businesses to promote best practice and partnership working.
- Monitor performance, implement service improvements, and report on key outcomes to senior management.
- Keep up to date with legislative changes and emerging trends affecting licensing services.
About You:
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience in local authority licensing including management experience
- The ability to make sound decisions under pressure and deal with challenging situations with professionalism.
- A commitment to high standards of public service, transparency, and continuous improvement.
