Interim Enforcement Officer

A Local Authority in Essex is seeking an Interim Enforcement Officer to support a number of emerging enforcement cases, as well as help manage an existing backlog.

The position is offered on an initial 3-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension upon completion.

The role also offers flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home three days per week.

Case load includes:

  • Managing a caseload of approximately 85-90
  • Dealing with unauthorised changes of use (e.g., HMOs)
  • Handling listed building cases
  • Investigating removal of trees
  • Addressing waste tips and fires
  • Managing traveller-related cases
  • Providing cautions when necessary during site visits
