Minerals & Waste Planning Policy Officer
My client in the South East is seeking an experienced Minerals and Waste Planning Policy Officer to support the development and delivery of strategic planning policies within a local authority. This role is pivotal in shaping sustainable waste and mineral management across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to the preparation, review, and implementation of minerals and waste planning policies.
- Provide expert advice on planning applications, environmental assessments, and policy compliance.
- Engage with stakeholders, including government bodies, industry representatives, and the public.
- Monitor legislative changes and ensure alignment with national and regional planning frameworks.
- Support evidence gathering, consultation processes, and policy drafting for Local Plans.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in minerals and/or waste planning policy within a local authority
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act and National Planning Policy Framework.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
