I’m partnering with a fast‑growing private equity real estate investor and developer to appoint a high‑impact Finance Director.
The firm specialises in repositioning and redeveloping assets across the UK, with a project pipeline exceeding £800m and a track record spanning hotels, student accommodation, residential, and retail.
The business uses a flexible investment approach, working across various fund and partnership structures. They’re building a team of bright, inquisitive individuals who thrive on analytical problem‑solving and creating meaningful impact.
This is a senior leadership position overseeing the entire finance function across Funds, Group entities, and multiple project‑level SPVs.
You’ll act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, investors, and lenders, balancing rigorous financial control with commercial insight.
Leading a team of five and managing the finance operations across active projects. The remit spans financial control, corporate and project finance, fund finance, reporting, compliance, and investor relations.
The ideal candidate brings broad finance experience whether from private equity, investment banking, accounting, audit, real estate funds, bank risk or REITs.
Key Responsibilities
- Full leadership responsibilities over personal and functions embedding strong controls and refining the financial processes and operating frameworks.
- Maintain oversight of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial accuracy
- Manage Group, Fund, and SPV financial control
- Oversee banking relationships and funding facilities
- Lead AP/AR, rent collection, payroll, pensions, and supplier payments
- Partner with development teams on cost control, forecasting, and drawdowns
- Support lender reporting and project‑level financial insight
- Own month‑end close and deliver high‑quality reporting
- Oversee statutory accounts under UK standards
- Ensure VAT, tax, and regulatory compliance
- Manage lender reporting and covenant monitoring
- Deliver investor communications and fund updates
- Manage equity drawdowns and distributions
- Coordinate Fund/SPV audits and onboarding/KYC
- Oversee FCA‑related compliance
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, STEM, or similar
- Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, etc.) welcome but not essential
- Strong Excel, analytical and quantitative ability
- Deep understanding of UK accounting principles
- Confident people manager with strong organisational skills
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, hands‑on environment
- Fundraising experience is a bonus
