I am partnering exclusively with a South London–based, community-focused organisation that is entering an exciting period of sustained growth and development. As they expand their footprint across London, they are looking to appoint an Associate Director of Law & Governance to play a central role in strengthening their governance and regulatory framework. This is a senior, high-impact position with responsibility across governance, risk, compliance, and legal liaison. It offers the opportunity to take real ownership, working closely with the executive team and board at a time where your input will directly shape how the organisation evolves. Key responsibilities will include:
Leading board and committee governance (agendas, papers, minutes, forward planning)
Overseeing the organisation’s risk management framework and maintaining risk registers
Ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements
Supporting audit processes and annual reporting
Acting as a key liaison with external legal advisors
The successful candidate will have:
Proven experience in corporate governance, including board and committee support
A background within housing, the public sector, or another regulated environment
Strong understanding of risk management and compliance
The ability to work with autonomy and confidence
A high level of cultural awareness, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse communities
