Are you a repairs specialist in Essex?

Repairs Surveyor

  • You will be working as an Interim Repairs Surveyor for a social housing providers in Essex.
  • You will play a key role in diagnosing building defects, specifying repairs, and ensuring high-quality maintenance works across our property portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the safety, quality, and longevity of the registered homes.
  • £400 per day, paid via an umbrella company.
  • 6–12 Month Contract with the option to extend if everyone is happy.
  • Interim, Full-time.

Building Surveyor Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed inspections of properties to identify building defects and maintenance issues.
  • Diagnose root causes of disrepair and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Prepare schedules of works, specifications, and cost estimates for repairs and maintenance projects.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations, health & safety standards, and company policies.
  • Oversee contractors and suppliers to ensure works are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Liaise with tenants, landlords, and internal teams to provide clear communication and updates on repair works.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, works, and costs, and prepare reports for management.

Building Surveyor Applicant Essentials

  • Proven experience in building surveying, repairs, and maintenance within residential or commercial property sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., RICS, CIOB) desirable.
