Pest Control Officer | NW England | £20 per hour

Pest Control Technician – Local Authority Contract 

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Pest Control Technician to join a busy Pest Control Services Team within a UK Local Authority. This role offers stability, flexibility and the chance to work independently across a wide range of sites.

Contract Details

  • 6‑month contract
  • One‑week notice period (either side)
  • £20 per hour
  • Monday–Friday, 35 hours per week
  • 8:30 AM – 4:15 PM (45‑minute unpaid lunch)
  • Remote working from a company van
  • Work across multiple sites within the local region
  • Uniform, PPE, equipment and van provided

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a full range of pest control services, including rodent control in sewers and drainage systems.
  • Carry out inspections and treatments across residential, commercial and public environments.
  • Use hand tools and specialist equipment safely and effectively.
  • Work at height and in confined spaces following all safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with service procedures.
  • Represent the service professionally while working independently across the region.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 2 BPCA qualification or equivalent
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience across all core pest control disciplines
  • Knowledge of building construction relevant to pest activity
  • Ability to undertake manual handling tasks including lifting, pulling and removing drainage covers
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet service needs
  • Commitment to safe working practices including use of PPE and uniform

  • Enhanced DBS must be in place
  • Two most recent references required before offer
  • Unbranded CV + cover sheet submitted as two separate documents
  • All submissions must comply with IR35
  • Submit all candidates together by 3:00 PM daily
  • Feedback only provided for candidates invited to interview

Interview Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview via Teams or in person, typically the next day or the day after submission.
