M&E Manager
- You will be working as an Interim M&E Manager with an RP in Essex who are looking for someone to help deal with their incoming responsive repairs.
- You will lead in the operational management of compliance control, information maintenance and monitoring with regard to the servicing, inspection and follow up regimes of remedial works across all statutory and non-statutory compliance work- streams within remit, liaising with the Performance team to ensure up to date adherence is understood at all times.
- This contract will be for 6 months, which will then result in an extension if everyone's happy.
- You will be on an hourly rate of £450–£500 per day.
- You will be responsible for a small team which is built up of an M&E Officer and an admin.
- 1–2 days per week in the office.
M&E Manager Responsibilities
- Ensure that all relevant compliance service, testing and inspection processes within remit are carried out correctly, remedial/follow on works are undertaken on a risk basis; that the service, testing and inspection process remains current and fit for purpose, and all records and certification are appropriately recorded. Keep up to date with changing legislation, standards and technology. Assist in the updating of specifications and documents.
- Implement and operate robust processes and procedures in order to ensure the legal obligations in regard to property compliance are managed and met; and to ensure all identified risks are mitigated in the most efficient manner, making best use of available resources to keep all residents safe.
- Work in collaboration with H&S Manager and the Building Safety Manager to ensure risks around health, safety and compliance are identified and risk mitigation strategies are developed and implemented to maintain property compliance and our regulatory obligations are met.
- To work with the Performance Manager to lead and manage a team of colleagues delivering administrative and transactional support for all statutory compliance ensuring work is managed in accordance with appropriate priorities and timescales to support the Business Plan and operational objectives.
- To contract manage and monitor the performance of the contractors ensuring the compliance requirements for planned works are understood and met, with suitable key performance indicators that drive compliance performance, resident satisfaction and value for money.
- Provide expert advice to business stakeholders around compliance issues and statutory obligations. Ensure that any changes to compliance related standards and legislation are highlighted at the earliest opportunity and strategies/policies are developed to co-ordinate a timely and appropriate response.
- To contribute towards the Asset Management Strategy development from a compliance point of view and collaborate to inform and advise on when and how we need to provide investment in our M&E portfolio to increase resident satisfaction, design programmes of works, maintain the service of critical systems, (e.g. lifts and plantrooms) and ensure the data on our M&E and compliance related components is kept up to date in the stock database.
- Co-ordinate and manage technical audits of work undertaken by contractors and consultants. Arrange and manage inspections pre-work, during work and post-completion including liaison with residents to establish customer experience was at or above required levels. Report findings and ensure that continuous improvement is adopted across the supply chain.
M&E Manager Essentials
- Detailed and varied knowledge of building services legislation.
- Ability to devise, communicate, and implement new ideas and technical solutions to building services problems and to convey information to others by way of written reports and technical specifications.
- Demonstrate experience and skills managing customer and contractor relationships to ensure a high level of customer care and satisfaction.
- ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
- Willingness to participate in further training and development opportunities offered by the Association, to further knowledge.
