Lead a team into the companies new financial era

I have partnered exclusively with a long-established property consultancy operating across London and home counties who are seeking a seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Accounts. 

With a strong client base and an ethos of hands-on partner involvement, the firm leads with its personalised service to their long clients, making them formidable within the market.

 

Operating as a respected SME, the business places high importance on quality, collaboration, and responsiveness—both internally and externally. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the financial operations of the firm and contributing to its continued growth and success.

 

The Role
This is a pivotal role within the construction of the Property Management team. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s client reporting function. 

The Head of Accounts will drive operational excellence within the accounting team, lead on the implementation of a new finance system, and ensure financial processes and controls support both regulatory standards and business needs.

The role also includes a strategic focus—reviewing and enhancing standard operating procedures (SOPs), contributing to new business opportunities, and working closely with Partners and department heads to ensure the financial offering remains robust, scalable, and client-focused.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Accounts function, ensuring accurate financial control across client and company accounts
  • Oversee the implementation of a new finance system, including planning, rollout, training, and change management
  • Review and enhance existing accounting processes and standard operating procedures to ensure best practice and consistency
  • Work closely with Partners on financial elements of new business pitches, tenders, and proposals
  • Support onboarding of new clients, ensuring seamless integration with internal systems and reporting processes
  • Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, banks, and relevant regulatory bodies
  • Drive improvements in client reporting, cash flow forecasting, and budgeting processes
  • Monitor compliance with RICS and industry-specific financial regulations
  • Report regularly to senior leadership on team performance, project progress, and financial insights
  • Support and mentor the wider finance team to ensure strong performance, development, and retention

You will have: 

  • Proven experience implementing or migrating finance systems (e.g. Qube, MRI, Yardi, or similar)
  • Background in property, real estate, or professional services preferred
  • Commercially astute, with experience supporting business development and client onboarding
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and balancing operational detail with strategic goals
