Your recruitment career is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach

At Oyster Partnership we pride ourselves on recognising that success working in recruitment develops in all varying ways. This is why we felt it necessary that our Property Recruitment Specialists should be able to choose the direction they want their career to take.

Fundamentally, as a business, we understand that people have diverse skills and those abilities will lead them to a different career. In recruitment, there is not a ‘one size fits all approach that defines a successful person and our management team could definitely talk about this for a while with different examples given.

Oyster Partnership’s flexible career path has been created by our MD Sasza Bandiera, Talent Manager Hannah Clarke and Oyster Partnership’s Division Managers; with feedback and opinions factored in taken from consultants who have worked at Oyster for a number of years, all of whom are embarking on their own unique journeys.

‘’Traditionally the recruitment industry has been seen to be a ‘one size fits all’ approach to progression – the more money you make, the further you will progress. I and the Management Team have spent time understanding our employees and having been a Trainee Recruiter myself, I know how essential it is to understand what really motivates employees, coupled with what they and we as a business value. As a result we’ve developed a bespoke career path that allows us to maximise an individual’s skills, as well as support them through the different stages of their career.

We are still a recruitment business and therefore have targets we need to achieve but at each level there are also competencies to take into consideration. We also love to champion those that embody our values; understanding, dedication, proactivity and integrity, which internally keeps a positive working culture. A personal goals document is also created for every employee including short and long term goal setting along with budget management; working at Oyster is for the long haul career and not just a job, so considering the individual's expectations and vision is essential for success!

As you can see, at Oyster, a tailored career path is not the only thing we have to shout about; we also offer a ‘Sunshine Day’ to all, which does not count towards annual leave but as a day where you can relax and do what you please, as well as a summer bootcamp led by a qualified PT and sessions on lifestyle and health, and plenty of other benefits in place to ensure that everyone can achieve their best at Oyster Partnership.” Sasza Bandiera, MD
