Working as a Rough Sleepers Initiative Coordinator
The Rough Sleepers Initiative (RSI) is a national project with funding from Central Government to help the most affected Local Authorities assess, organise and address their rough sleeper population and where possible end rough sleeping.
Rough Sleepers Coordinators work on bringing together all local (and where possible, national) organisations and resources to work as one to face the homelessness crisis.
The role of a Rough Sleepers Initiative Coordinator includes:
- Being in charge of the Navigators and Outreach workers
- Develop risk assessments and care plans
- Handling mental health, drug or alcohol misuse and domestic abuse
- Coordinating and organising events
- Working with vulnerable people with complex needs and histories of homelessness
- Strategic partnership development
Qualifications & Experience
As a Rough Sleepers Initiative Coordinator you will need strong leadership and empathy skills, experience working with Rough Sleepers and/ or Social Housing. The ability to find new ways of accommodating Rough Sleepers and advocating on their behalf. And lastly resilience and great work ethic for when things don’t go to plan.
Permanent contract: £28,000 – £33,000
Contractors: £21 – £28 per hour
