The role of a Private Sector Housing Officer
Private Sector Housing Officers inspect privately rented accommodation, ensuring that the homes are safe for multiple people to live in.
It is a varied role, where you will be working with various departments within the organisation, while also often being the first point of contact for prospective and existing tenants.
The role of a Private Sector Housing Officer includes:
- Investigation of complaints
- Providing technical and legal advice
- Preparation of notices, reports, consultations etc
- Undertaking interviews under caution
- Responding to allegations of unlawful eviction and harassment
- Assisting in the gathering of evidence for legal cases
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications aren’t essential; it is largely an experience-based role but a qualification in Housing health and safety rating system (HHSRS) might be required.
A good understanding of various IT systems, the Housing Industry, and corresponding law is also essential.
Contractors: £25 – £35 per hour
