On Thursday, 12 July, our MD Sasza Bandiera accompanied by Divisional Managers; Robert Murray, Jaspreet Bhogal and Sohan Modi, headed to John Fisher School to take part in their annual ‘Enrichment Week’. Our team of specialists led six career advice sessions, fifty minutes each, over the course of the day to 25 students per class. In total 150 year 12’s finished the day with useful tips and advice on how to land a successful career once they leave education.
The PowerPoint presentations and tasks presented consisted of:
- Interview skills & Techniques: Jaspreet & Robert
- How to write a CV & Application Techniques: Sohan Modi
- How To Sell Yourself And Excel In Your Career: Sasza Bandiera
It was a different type of working day as our recruitment specialists took on the new role of being teachers for the day, however, it was highly rewarding to offer advice to those looking to start their careers and the day received a lot of high quality feedback given from those in attendance.
“We are extremely grateful to Sasza and his team from Oyster Partnership for giving up a whole day to come and work with our Sixth Form students. Sasza was inspiring and engaging, giving relevant examples to the students on how they can build a successful career. All three sessions educated the students in the skills needed to excel, interview preparation and the use of social media to land your career.” JFS, Headteacher, Andrew Dean
“The sessions today have really helped me focus on my career, and the skills I need to focus on to succeed. It was inspiring to see Sasza doing so well in his career. It has certainly given me a boost in pursuing my dream career.” Year 12 student at JFS
“Hearing from the Oyster employees really opened my eyes. I wasn’t really sure how I would use my experiences at school to really sell myself when I apply for jobs now and in the future. I really liked how we got key tips to take away and apply to our own CV’s” Aidan, Year 12
“Great sessions. I thought Sasza was very motivational and showed current students how to really develop a career and be successful. Having businesses in, like Oyster Partnership, really does inspire me to get into the world of work with a wide selection of skills and experiences.” Nishil, Year 12
“I found the sessions really productive and engaging. As you can imagine, the day after the England game spirits could have been down, however every student was attentive and eager to find out different ways to push themselves forward for their future! I’d like to thank all the staff and students that made it a successful day. It was something I would love to do more regularly and hopefully will see a student from JFS end up at Oyster Partnership in the future!” Oyster Partnership, Divisional Manger: Sohan Modi
