#OPBuildingFutures: Environmental Health Consultant Adam Day – Why Oyster Partnership was my next recruitment career move.
This week for our #OPBuildingFutures feature we introduce to you our Environmental Health Consultant Adam Day who specialises placing professionals into roles in both the East and West Midland areas of the UK.
With over two years’ experience in recruitment, we are delighted that Adam has joined Oyster Partnership. Adam is a strong and experienced consultant with a deep knowledge of the industry and we have no doubt he will bring the same expertise, dynamism and commitment to his new role.
Find out why Oyster Partnership fits Adam’s long-term goals, along with his career visions for the future!
So why did you chose recruitment as your career?
I have a background in working in property and telecoms and had worked with a colleague who was the principle consultant of a national company and had moved over into recruitment. We met up and had a chat and I decided to get into property recruitment as I had built up a skill-set that I would benefit in having for the role. Which has ultimately led to me having a recruitment career to-date!
Tell us a little bit about the sector you will be working in at Oyster Partnership?
I am working in the Environmental Health sector, which covers food safety and hygiene, contaminated land and pollution, private sector housing and licensing, covering both the East and West Midland areas of the UK. I cover 51 different councils, boroughs and districts!
What attracted you to move over consultancies and work at OP?
In my original company I was working in the same specialist niche that I am working in now at OP, however, the previous recruitment consultancy was not set up internally or systems wise to deliver at a top tier level. Oyster Partnership specifically specialise in this area and have the contact resources and know-how in terms of being able to create a successful business. My team are immersed in the market and understand the mechanics of the sector so can really help me to be the best in my role. I also felt that the management team had goals and drive similar to my own and therefore would be ideal mentors to help me succeed here.
What excites you about working at OP both professionally and personally?
The potential here is huge, commission structure wise it is one of the most competitive and attractive that I have seen. The various quarterly and monthly incentives keep everyone working hard and motivated – it is a business I feel you will be well looked after if you work hard.
My first day I was taken to lunch with the MD Sasza! It was great to chat about the business as a whole and I just felt very welcome and settled from day one.
What are your goals that you want to achieve over 2018?
Passing my three months review and by the end of the year I would like to be in a Senior Consultant position. As the company is expanding, more opportunities will arise in different areas and sectors so it’s exciting to know there is more to come!
Any tips for a recruitment specialist looking to move over to a different recruitment consultancy?
