Recruiters spend a lot of time saying they understand their market.
Recruiters spend a lot of time saying they understand their market. But how often do they actually experience it?
Last week, Sam Taylor spent the day with one of our private sector consultancy clients, getting hands-on exposure to fire safety surveying.
He joined the team on site, looking at fire doors, compliance, remedial works and quality control, while learning how decisions are made and challenged in a live environment.
It gave him context you simply can't get from a job brief.
What does “good” actually look like? Where does responsibility sit? What happens when something isn't compliant? And what are the pressures facing the people actually delivering the work?
For us, that's what becoming a genuine specialist should involve.
Not just knowing the terminology.
Understanding the work behind it.
Great work Sam! #Nothingsevertoomuch
