S278/38 Highway Engineer

We are working with a local authority situated in the East Midlands in their search for an s278/38 Engineer with the skillset to be able to assess the designs and negotiate both the s278/38 agreements with developers on behalf of a Local Authority.

A key element of this role is working with the authority to overlook the designs and influencing the detailed design of the highway network. Your input would enable to make the agreement so the council can make permanent changes to the highway network to enable the approval prior to it commencing.

• You'd be at hand for implementing agreements on section s278's ensuring the designs on the improved road network are viable, compliant, and have no other challenges to overcome when the development begins, all in accordance with the current legislation, and council policies to the highest technical quality.
• Responsible for the overview of the section 38 work, ensuring the extent of the design is suitable for highway adoption so the developers can continue with their project.

• WFH hybridity is available and would be required to go into the office once every other week.
• Contract length: 6-12months
