I am working with a local authority in London to join the Asset Management team supporting the Flood Risk/Drainage function of the team on an initial 6 month contract.
You will support the Senior Flood Risk Manager in accordance with the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 and to achieve the Council’s objectives and strategies as a Lead Local Flood Authority.
- Technical lead for flood risk projects in areas such as; surface water management; flood risk management strategies and assessments; development of resilience and resistance measures for flood risk; issuing Watercourse and Land Drainage consents.
- Undertake flood investigations, identifying causes of flooding, attending sites, undertaking site walkovers, watercourse inspections, asset inspections etc.
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholders including the Environment Agency, water companies, neighbouring LLFAs and other flood risk authorities.
- To maintain technical and resource records and undertake research and technical investigations as directed.
The role may require occasional out of normal hours working to facilitate the successful delivery of the programme.
