A Local Authority in South West England is looking for a skilled Service Charge Officer to join their team.
You will play a key role in managing service charge regimes, analysing data, and maintaining clear communication with residents and operational teams.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will ensure compliance with varying service charge regimes (fixed and variable), and review tenancy agreements, leases, and deeds of transfer. You will build and manage effective relationships across different teams, applying your knowledge of the RICS Service Charge Residential Code and ICAEW Tech 03/11 to your work.
Alongside managing complex data and business decisions, you’ll support operational staff by breaking down service charge accounts for residents and explaining them in an accessible manner. You will also be proactive in identifying risks and ensuring that service charges are transparent and well-understood by all parties.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is as comfortable with numbers and spreadsheets as they are with engaging people on the ground. You will work alongside other Service Charge Officers, sharing best practices and ensuring a consistent approach. Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, and excellent interpersonal communication are essential.
A resident advocate at heart, you understand the impact of your work on residents and take pride in delivering high-quality service. Your ability to simplify jargon and complex processes for both colleagues and residents will be key to your success in this role.
If you are passionate about service charge management and looking to make a meaningful impact, I would love to hear from you.
