Could you do your manager's job?
Senior Licensing Officer
The Southwest
£250-300/day
If you’re a Senior Licensing Officer with a couple of years of experience, then you absolutely could do your manager's job.
With career progression as slow as it is within the public sector, you can often take on all the responsibilities of a role but be left waiting for the position to become vacant before you get the title & benefits.
Luckily, there is a way around this stall in your career. You can offer your expertise as a consultant.
The Role
Joining a local authority in Devon as a senior officer, you will initially be tasked with the senior functions of the Licensing team, namely attending committee meetings & hearings, writing reports, and writing/updating new policy.
You will also lead a mini-restructure of the team, hiring 2 additional senior staff.
Then you really will be doing your manager's job.
