Job Title: HR Manager

About the School

Channing School, a prestigious and forward-thinking independent day school for girls aged 4-18 with around 1000 pupils and 250 staff, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Manager to join the fantastic and vibrant community. Nestled in the heart of Highgate, North London, the school is renowned for its academic excellence, nurturing environment, and commitment to the holistic development of their students.

The Role:

As the HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the people strategy, ensuring the well-being and professional growth of their dedicated team. You will oversee all aspects of HR operations, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and professional development. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and motivating workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the recruitment process, ensuring we attract and retain top talent
  • Oversee employee relations, including performance management and conflict resolution
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that reflect best practices
  • Manage staff training and professional development programs
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and school policies
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or similar role, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and employee relations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent is desirable
