As a Housing Options Officer for a local authority in Norfolk, your primary responsibility would be to provide advice and support to individuals and families who are facing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless. You would work with a range of different clients, including those who are vulnerable or have complex needs, to help them access suitable housing and support services.
Some of the key duties and responsibilities of a Housing Options Officer include:
- Providing advice and assistance to clients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including assessing their needs and eligibility for support and accommodation.
- Liaising with housing providers, social services, and other agencies to secure suitable accommodation for clients.
- Developing and implementing strategies to prevent homelessness, such as working with landlords to promote affordable housing options.
- Undertaking regular reviews of clients' circumstances to ensure they are receiving the appropriate level of support.
- Providing information and guidance to other council departments and partner agencies on homelessness issues.
The rate of pay for this role is £26-27 per hour, and the minimum contract length is three months. The work arrangements of this particular role is hybrid.
