A Local Authority based in the South West are looking for a Benefits Team Leader to join their team on an interim basis with the option to go permanent.

The position will be managing the Housing Benefit Assessment team comprised of two team leaders and several officers. As the team manager, you will be responsible for supervising staff members, compiling team rotas as well as assisting the team leaders reporting to you.

About the role -

The position is for an initial 3-month period with a view to extending or go permanent for the right individual who is able to demonstrate strong managerial skills. The Council are looking for an interim with the potential to go permanent.

The Council's current policy is remote working so you will undertake the role from the comfort of your home. Checking in with colleagues via MS Teams and various other tools which will assist you in being able to manage while working remotely.

About you -

Previous senior or team leader experience within a Local Authority and a legislative background in Benefits are essential to undertake this role. With a team of nearly 16 staff across Housing Benefit, you will need to be able to step into this role with confidence and leadership.
