I am working with a council in the South-East who are looking to strengthen their Flood Risk team with a Flood Risk Engineer.
You will support the Flood Risk objectives in accordance with the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 and to achieve the Council’s objectives and strategies as a Lead Local Flood Authority. This position is fully remote and falls within IR35.
Key responsibilities:
- Liaising with colleagues in the Local Planning Authorities as well as Developers and consultants to ensure that information on flood risk and SuDS meets best practice and national policy.
- Leading on the delivery of the SuDS strategy for the Council including highway SuDS opportunities and preparing a schedule for SuDS delivery.
- Reviewing and commenting on drainage aspects of planning applications for minor and major developments, in line with the London Plan and SuDS Non-Statutory technical standards
