An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a strong and knowledgeable finance team with a County Council in the South West.
I am seeking an experienced individual who will be capable of leading a team that supports informed decision making across a County Council by providing high quality and timely financial advice.
Your team will be responsible for financial modelling, financial business cases, scenario planning, complex option appraisal and business planning for new initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
- the allocation and prioritisation of resources to corporate and strategic projects, drawing on the individual expertise of team members as appropriate.
- working with stakeholders on strategic projects to ensure there is an internal understanding of the financial modelling and assessing the robustness of estimates made.
- providing technical accountancy support to the Projects and Capital team to meet statutory and regulatory reporting requirements and the wider Council to support the delivery of Council objectives.
- the allocation and prioritisation of resources to corporate and strategic projects, drawing on the individual expertise of team members as appropriate.
Ideally at least 3 years experience as a Finance Manager within a Local Authority - who has delivered project support.
3x a week in the office, given you will be supporting systems.
A qualified accountant (e.g., CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA etc), with significant knowledge, skills and experience of working at a senior level in a finance team within a large and complex organisation.
