Environmental Protection Officer

Location: Essex

Salary: £35 + per hour (DOE)

Contract: 6 months

Start: July

Hours: Full-time/Part-time, hybrid working (50:50)

Our client, a local authority based in Cambridgeshire, is seeking an Environmental Protection Officer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for dealing with statutory complaints, planning applications, and enforcement.

Key responsibilities:

• Investigate statutory nuisance complaints.
• Planning consultations.
• Enforcement.
• Use noise measuring equipment to assess noise levels (desirable but not essential).
• Prepare reports and attend court as required.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Environmental Health or experience in similar.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
