We are looking for a Deputy Section 151 Officer to join a Council based in Central England on an interim six-month basis.
The position has four direct reports into it including a Senior Closure Lead, Head of Finance Business Partnering, Payroll Manager and Systems Development Lead.
Candidates will be looked upon favourably should they have experience leading the Closure of Accounts process in previous roles although this task itself will be delegated to a subordinate, it will also be looked upon favourably if the candidate has experience has experience directly dealing with members and presenting to committee as the member of the Senior Leadership team at a Local Authority.
The council is in a stable financial position having got 22/23’s accounts in draft awaiting External Auditors to come in and whilst they have savings targets as any other council does they are in a sustainable financial position.
The council are offering the position on a remote basis with liaison with committee and cabinet being allowed over teams.
The council requires a January start date for the position for a month long handover with the current post holder.
