We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Damp and Mould Coordinator to join our Property Maintenance team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to damp and mould issues within our social housing properties. Your primary focus will be to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of our residents by effectively addressing and resolving damp and mould concerns. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of property maintenance.

3 month rolling contract

London based office, expectation to be in the office twice a month

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Case Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for residents reporting damp and mould issues, providing timely and empathetic responses.
    • Log and track all damp and mould cases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are maintained in the housing management system.
    • Coordinate with maintenance teams, contractors, and external specialists to assess and address reported issues promptly.
  2. Inspection and Assessment:
    • Arrange and oversee property inspections to identify the root causes of damp and mould.
    • Collaborate with surveyors and property managers to develop effective treatment plans and preventative measures.
    • Ensure all inspections and assessments are thoroughly documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  3. Repair Coordination:
    • Schedule and coordinate repair and remediation work, ensuring it is completed to a high standard and within established timelines.
    • Liaise with contractors and maintenance teams to ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and best practices.
    • Follow up with residents post-repair to ensure issues have been resolved satisfactorily and to provide additional support if needed.
  4. Resident Communication and Support:
    • Keep residents informed throughout the process, providing clear and regular updates on the status of their case.
    • Offer guidance and advice on preventing damp and mould, promoting best practices for property maintenance.
    • Address any additional concerns or questions from residents, ensuring their satisfaction and well-being.
  5. Data Management and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive records of all damp and mould cases, including inspection reports, repair work, and resident feedback.
    • Prepare regular reports for senior management on the status of damp and mould issues, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
    • Use data to inform proactive measures and long-term strategies for damp and mould prevention.
  6. Policy Development and Compliance:
    • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to damp and mould management.
    • Ensure all activities comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and organizational policies.
    • Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in damp and mould treatment and prevention.
