Client Accountant

A dynamic and growing company based in Canary Wharf, property management company is seeking to expand its team due to the acquisition of 2 new residential properties.

The company is looking for a Service Charge Accountant to join its residential accounts team, working closely with the Head of Accounts and other experienced team members. This role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and accurate management of service charge accounts across an expanding portfolio of properties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage service charge budgets and year-end accounts for residential properties.
• Ensure accurate and timely billing of service charges, working closely with property managers.
• Reconcile service charge accounts, including variance analysis and adjustments.
• Liaise with tenants, leaseholders, and external auditors regarding service charge queries and disputes.
• Maintain and update financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
• Assist in forecasting and financial planning for the residential team.

Key Requirements:

• Experience in service charge accounting, ideally within residential property management.
• Strong knowledge of relevant UK legislation, including the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Qube, Yardi, or similar).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
