The role

You will be working in one of the most reputable property consultancies gaining fundamental experience across a variety of asset classes from a number of private sector clients. Working alongside talented surveyors of all levels and backgrounds in the Bristol team, you will form an integral part of the department, responsible for the management of a commercial portfolio consisting mainly of retail and office assets. Expect to be advising clients, identifying new business opportunities as well as ensuring current business relationships remain strong. You will be the lead for landlord and tenant issues such as rent reviews and lease renewals across a range of sectors as well as assisting more senior members of the team with larger schemes. Mentoring and managing junior surveyors will also be a key element of your responsibilities.

About you

As well as a property related degree, or equivalent, it would be desirable if you have worked in one or two UK consultancies (although public sector experience will also be considered, particularly those with Bristol experience) and either already be a senior surveyor or confident in your ability and knowledge to make the next move from surveyor into this role. Ideally you will be MRICS, working towards it or have demonstrable UK experience.

It would be advantageous if your experience included:

- Commercial assets - multi let office would be advantageous

- Working within Bristol and having an understanding of key issues and policies in Bristol

- Taking the lead on a number of clients

- Mentoring junior members of the team and be able to work effectively as part of a team

- Negotiating rent reviews and lease renewals

- Preparation of service charge budgets
