Independent School - Live-in Role

An area of natural outstanding beauty

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to help support the school through the next phases of its development and be a vital part of their larger vision.

Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, this school is set in a 28 acre site, which is maintained to the highest standard and the school wants this to continue following the retirement of the current site manager after 25 years of exceptional dedicated service. The school has undergone extensive redevelopment in recent years, including the addition of a contemporary new teaching block with integrated library and IT suite, and be-spoke performing arts facilities, which complement the original Grade II listed building.

Not only would you be working in these surroundings, this role offers you the opportunity to live in them as well.

You would be overseeing the groundsman and reporting to the Bursar of the school, working together to ensure that the buildings and grounds match the school’s excellent academic and sporting achievements. The staff, families and children all contribute to the welcoming atmosphere and high standards of the school, and this is reflected in a recent report by the Good Schools Guide.

You would be responsible for the day-to-day operational management, facilities, safety, and security of the site, as well as overseeing capital projects, and would be happy to have a hands-on role on the site.

The school needs the successful candidate to be self-starting, demonstrate best practice and be committed to its unique ethos.

Applicants will have previous experience in a similar hands on role leading a small, committed team. You will be hard working, practical, and solutions driven.

This is a live-in role so requires some out of hours work such as periodic alarm management and maintenance work.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
