Picture this…

Punting along the college backs, the sun shining on your face. Taking in the sights of some of the world’s oldest university architecture, imaging how many influential leaders, academics and noble peace prize winners may have taken the same trip.

Tourists from all over the world have flocked to see and hear about the unique and special history the city has to offer. You’re here, in your own paradise, taking it all in.

You slowly glide past the banks, the banks of your new office.

Seems like a distant memory but this could be you once we have battled through this terrible pandemic. I think what is clear, is that there are better days to come.

As you’ve guessed you’ll be working with one of Cambridge University’s Colleges. Although normal day-to-day college activities are on hold, the operations and estates team are working more than ever to help ensure the college can function and continue to offer its services, albeit with a new way of working.

Working directly with the Director of Estates and Operations, your job will be to ensure the smooth running of operational projects. You will take the lead over governance, helping to bring forward projects. Acting as a lead process manager, you will have a pivotal role at the college assisting the Director to implement change and more efficient ways of working.

Did I forget to mention that the Director is a very humble and inspirational leader who loves to develop and get the best out of his team. You will struggle to find someone who works as hard and who is just as passionate about what they do.

You’ll have a keen eye for detail. With experience in report writing and detailed minute taking, with the ability to take action and be able to engage with an array of stakeholders whilst being unflustered with deadlines.

What’s exciting about this position is that there is no predefined blueprint. We would love to hear from you if you feel you can and value. You could be from a project office, PMO, estates or construction background, what is important is a strong track record of influencing teams
