Project Manager

    • Property
  • London
  • £30 - £40 per annum
  • Permanent

Do you have experience in Site Management? A background in construction or maintenance? Are you looking to take your next step in Project Management? This is an incredible opportunity to take a step into one of the country’s leading independent schools and be a significant part of their estates team, which is responsible for the complete facilities management of the estate.

The Role

This would be a great opportunity for a green project manager – there is a large body of works going on now, so the ideal candidate will need to come in and take control of the processes, demonstrating a strong knowledge of construction and building works. This role has a large variety of works to tackle, so needs a well-rounded person with site-management knowledge or experience to galvanise and organise the projects when they are slipping out of time scales or budget. Experience with projects will help as well, as the contractors need to be fully informed on the design specification, whilst coordinating the works between occupiers and the contractors. This needs to be done whilst managing the stakeholders effectively, and keeping a pro-active attitude throughout the team.

About you

Reporting into the Director of Projects, you will have basic building knowledge of specification and design and ideally practical experience in the management of building works. A building qualification is favourable, though good working knowledge of a construction environment is what is necessary. You will be an enthusiastic, pro-active problem solver – the role will suit somebody with the energy, attitude and drive to pursue a career in a conservation environment.

The Client

Based in London, this mixed independent school offers a wealth of opportunity. It combines academic excellence with a broad programme of co-curricular activities. Alongside a wealth of heritage and tradition (which is heavily focused on throughout the design and construction process of all projects), the school is a progressive working environment, providing opportunity to both Students and Staff alike, in terms of learning and growing within your role and an opportunity to progress within it.

The package

  • £30,000 – 40,000
  • 21 days holiday pa
  • Free daily parking
  • Free hot lunches
  • Use of the college facilities
