A Local Authority based in the rural Worcestershire countryside is looking a Housing Options Officer to join their team for an initial 3-month contract with the possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate will have previous experience making section 184 decisions and therefore be able to hit the ground running

About you

This is a small team that is dealing with a medium caseload and needs an individual who is driven, independent and can deal with work under pressure. Previous experience in a Local Authority is essential, ideally a busier one/

About the role

  • Make section 184 decisions under Housing Act 1996 Part VI & VII
  • Manage a large caseload of current cases from start to finish
  • Creating Personal Housing Plans to prevent homelessness
  • Extensive knowledge of the Homeless Reduction Act
  • 37 hour working week
