How many years does your boss have left?

If the answer to this question is over a couple of years, have you thought that you may be holding yourself back?

Time moves quickly, do you really want to be in the same position a few years down the line?

Here’s your opportunity….

Heading up the grounds team of a 25-acre Independent school, you’ll be the leading groundsperson reporting directly into the Bursar. You’ll be a hands on leader who is looking to grow within the position.

The first point of call will be the sports pitches. After the retirement of the previous Grounds Manager and as the site has been under-used due to covid, there are some drainage issues that need addressing.  The school is keen to get things back on track for the pupils return and ensure they go into the next school year looking their best.

You’ll then be working with the Bursar to develop bigger and better playing surfaces and pitches, alongside ensuring the planting and surrounding grounds are in tip top condition.

The School has been growing at a rapid rate and now has around 500 pupils from 2-16, they are lucky enough to have a lot of land, but now need to get the most from it.

You’ll also be responsible for managing contractors, bringing forward projects and creating good working relations with the maintenance team, offering advice and expertise on all things Grounds Management.
